Renan is a Research Fellow at the Legal Priorities Project. His research focuses on improving institutional design and decision-making. He is a student at the MSc in Criminal Justice Policy at the London School of Economics and holds a Law degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil. He has previously worked as chief of staff for Justices of Appeal in Brazil and as director of an NGO that advocates for the rights of the Brazilian prison population. He is admitted to the Brazilian Bar.
